Beyond Black and White: Reflecting on culture, race and bias. As part of the University's Reconciliation Action Plan, Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre is conducting this Aboriginal Cultural Awareness workshop for Murdoch University staff.

This highly interactive session will enable Murdoch University staff to develop personal strategies to implement in their professional practice that serve to work towards the University's goals for Reconciliation. Using contemporary issues, it will explore the following topics: - Indigenous identity - What is 'culture'? - Thinking through stereotypes - Is it possible to be racist without knowing it? (implicit and explicit racism) - Putting awareness into practice. Please note: Once you are enrolled, participants will be asked to complete a short questionnaire prior to undertaking the course and bring their results to the workshop for discussion.

This half-day interactive workshop will be delivered by Chanelle van den Berg, Manager, Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre.
